My First Ping-Pong Tourney

Or is it table tennis? I wish I could have commerated my being dominated at the ping-pong tournament last night. People joke about ping-pong players (e.g. Balls of Fury) but these guys were way intense. We played best of five to 11 points, alternating every two serves. First round I was matched against a man that went by “Sam,” he was middle-eastern and must have assumed I couldn’t pronounce his real name. He one the first two, I won the third and lost the fourth for the match. In the final round, another middle-eastern male “Alfred” and Omar played furiously but with delicate nicely placed shots. Each had regulation shoes and Alfred even had table tennis apparrel (much like regular tennis apparrel, I wore what I had worn all day). Apparently both Alfred and Omar are nationally ranked but I haven’t found any evidence to support this.
