Fantasy bubkis.
T$:
Sitting at the library, I am diligently checking the status of my fantasy football team. I joined my first fantasy football league a little more than a month ago. My league’s name is the ESU PSYE Department, and so it is composed of mostly psychology people (i.e. a professor, a few alums, and current students). I could argue I’ve always been a little interested in football, I mean Ron and I did throw Superbowl parties, and Kennedar and I mercilessly challenged each other in Madden (whilst consuming Tomacelli’s). But now, my interest is a different breed. I used to fall asleep on the couch only once in a while looking at the score on the televised game. Now, I am intensely focused on the fantasy points of my team, the team I am playing and those around the ESU league. I consider depth charts, defense rankings, and secondaries to make ‘game-day’ decisions. I purchased an online ’stat-tracker’ to give me live updates on my team. In a word, I’m a football nerd. Only to compound this nerdiness, I am viewing all the action around the league (NFL), from my laptop in the computer and get excited when the bottom of the screen reads “Transferring data from yahoo.sports.com…” My team is currently getting thumped…
On other fronts, my thesis is mostly at a stand-still. My proposal is stuck in Animal Care and Use Committee (ACUC) land. They must approve my proposal before I can begin… Teaching is going well, much easier now with a semester under my belt and classes are mostly easy, and actually they are really easy.
Other news:
Meagan and I will ride in the ‘Yellow Brick Road’ ride in Wamego, KS next weekend. It is aptly named as the Wizard of Oz was filmed there. The following weekend we will meet brother, in-laws, and niece for camping in south east Nebraska, I think its called Indian Cave.
Open invitation to all readers: Halloween party at our house the Saturday before Halloween. We’ll have nibblies and Meagan plans to create all sorts of crafty decorations.
KS update:
I dislike KS weather… cold, hot, raining
