7 (8[9]) state tour
T$ update:
Meagan and I have returned from our 7, maybe 8, state tour. Earlier this month we returned to South Dakota for Robbie’s bachelor party and wedding (pictures to come soon). The wedding was complete with Fry’n Pan accomodations, Bon Jovi interpretive dance moves, and time with friends. Following the wedding extravaganza Meagan and spent much time at Lewis & Clark lake on the beach and in a boat with my folks.
Now to Sioux Falls to spend time with Meagan’s parental units Robyn and Gary. I also climbed rocks in the Palisades (pictures to come) and rode Dan’s gnarly new motorcycle (a first). We also rode in RAGBRAI on our bicycles (a second) for 80 miles. I felt good immediately following the ride but discovered the day after my ass was chaffed.
Back to Emporia, only to leave for Alabama. In Alabama, I checked out Auburn University and spoke to the professor I would like to work with. We had a good talk complete with discussion of the 2007 Tour de France (excellent). I was pleased with my visit and think Auburn University will be my top choice for doctoral programs.
Now to Florida, where Meagan and I rented a hotel room on Pensacola Beach in Gulf Breeze, FL (pictures to come). We went on a dolphin cruise and spent most of our time eating and sitting on the beach. I also confirmed my long held suspicion that Meagan is a chicken. (Meagan: you know it’s true).
Other News:
School starts in two weeks. I am mostly prepared but will need to make small revisions to my syllabi and determine new assignments. Also in two weeks, I will leave for APA in San Francisco and see a cousin I haven’t seen in a long time. Should be a good trip, will plan to meet several people. Among them are archivists from the Psychology Archives, Dr. Buskist, Dr. Davis and others.
KS Update:
Same ol’ same ol’. Rainy and hot. The neighborhood cat has already snuck into our house much to Meagan’s pleasure.
